not currently.  you could set one of the break sequences to that set of
characters so that folks wouldn't have to remember 'ESC [ ~', but that
doesn't really help.  but, you kinda get the same issue with other
things as well...it's up to the user to do a '^Ecr' or invoke other
things to repaint.  it is an interesting edge-case, though...since you
wouldn't want to just blindly send things to most consoles at "random"
times and with this type of console, you could (in theory it's
"harmless").
