I'm working on some python tools for interacting with the conserver,
and was hoping that a python module might exist for simplifying the
job.  The only thing that I came across while searching was this
13(!!) year old post:

I'm running conserver-8.2.4, and have a large number of servers with
console sessions being managed by conserver.  Configs change often
(many times/daily), such that I am sending a SIGHUP to the conserver
to keep it aware of all changes.

The man page comments that for a SIGHUP:
changes to consoles are done "in place", resetting the console port
(bringing it down and up) only when necessary.

What defines when the console port needs to be reset?  I'm asking as
I'm seeing ports being reset in a fairly widespread fashion whenever a
SIGHUP is sent, and its unclear why.

I'm running conserver-8.2.4 on a 64bit Linux server, with a large
number of servers with
console sessions being managed by conserver.  I've recently noticed
that every time someone logs out from a console session, the following
error is generated:

ERROR: FileRead(): SSL error on fd 4

The file descriptor changes periodically, but the rest of the error is
the same every time.  Here's a snippet from the log showing the the

I can cause the same message if I ungracefully disconnect a client.  =
Basically, I connect and then SIGTERM the console client instead of =
using "^Ec.=E2=80=9D and it produces the message.

Do you know how folks are telling the client to disconnect?  Perhaps =
there=E2=80=99s some configuration option that=E2=80=99s triggering a =
similar path, but I=E2=80=99d need to know if there=E2=80=99s something =
more than a simple client and config going on here.  :-/

That doesn=E2=80=99t help too much, but maybe it helps.

Thanks.  Looks like a SIGKILL is being sent to the client in these
cases with the error.
