There's a telnet = option which =0A= maps EOL to <CR><LF>;  You'll want to
turn that off = for =0A= certain consoles.  E.g. for Unix-based telnet client,
it's = probably =0A= "unset crlf", or something =0A= similar.

To get rid of the "double return" problem, after you've started the putty connection, right-click on the top of the putty window, select the "Change Settings" item, then "Telnet", then de-select the check-box labelled "Return key sends Telnet New Line instead of ^M". Can't help you with the other telnet clients. I've used =0A= putty in this mode to connect to an IOLAN Rack+ (reverse telnet).
To = get rid =0A= of the "double return" problem, after you've started the = putty

You need to be connected physically to the serial port. One idea is to attach a serial cable from ttyS0 -> ttyS1.
